A Behind the Scenes Look at... "The Devil, The Reaper, The Shadow and Me"

Normally, my outlook on explaining your poetry is more towards, "If no one asks, don't tell." But I figured, what's a Meanings page without some meanings? So this is one of the first explanations of my poetic works ever in existance. (laugh)

Anyways, the poem can be imagined several different ways. The way I have explained goes as such: Ok, this is loosely about a person (man or woman?) who is having horrible nightmares about these hellish figures coming after him. These nightmare creatures eventually infect his reality whether it's through his fear of the creatures or if they are actually envading his reality we don't know. (haha) Anyway, and they become more and more real and eventually as the identity of the "Shadow" is revealed the character realizes that it is him/herself.

As I said, it is for the reader to interpret. Because it's not about what I think, it's about what you think it is. A poem is, afterall, made to be read.
The reason I like this poem is because it is one of my more "trademark" sort of poems, through it's dark undertones and it's more "gothic" nature, if that's what you'd call it. I've already been told that I should write another one like it, such as a 'sequel' to it.
Anyway, that's really all I have to say about this one. So as always thanks for taking the time to read my writing, and this thing too!
